2011 marks the 20th year working in the commercial real estate field for Matt Washburn. After growing up on a livestock farm in Fowler, Indiana, matt obtained his college degree at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. From there Matt returned to Indiana and purchased dairy cattle for an export contract to Algeria. With the leftover cattle, high quality embryo’s were transplanted into these hosts and sold.
In 1989 Matt along with two partners opened a business brokerage in Lafayette to assist existing businesses in finding new owners. By 1991 Commercial Real Estate became the focus and Matt spent three years working for larger firms in Lafayette before switching over to Realty Advisors. At that point, Realty Advisors was based in Indianapolis and was in the process of developing the Super Target on SR26. Matt worked for Realty Advisors for the next five or six years before splitting off and becoming a Franchisee, sharing costs with the Indianapolis office. In 2008 Matt purchased the company and closed the Indianapolis office. The focus is in the Lafayette market; however, as opportunities arise in the surrounding area Realty Advisors will get involved in those markets.
